Liver Cells

Liver Cells.

Hepatoma cells cultured for 24 hours under magnetic levitation.  Liver cells are often the cell line of choice for performing toxicity assays because the liver plays a central role in clearing toxic chemicals from the human body and is susceptible to toxicity during the process.  Liver toxicity however  remains as one of the most common reasons for drug recalls, therefore developing better in vitro testing model remains critical (Navarro et al., 2006).
